In 2019, with the help of the Municipality of De Wolden, the Ruinen1865 Foundation, and of course the efforts of our tireless volunteer group, we were able to open a brand-new pool: the so-called wellness pool. With massage jets and bubbles, this pool offers the opportunity to swim laps in peace and quiet while the kids have fun in the larger pool. A kids-free relaxation zone has been created around the wellness pool, featuring hammocks and lounge chairs in the shade. This new addition has proven to meet a real need: it is frequently used by visitors who come to the pool to relax or to swim a few laps undisturbed.

Wellness bath and quiet zone

The beautiful, almost tropical summer of 2018 meant a wonderful and enjoyable swimming season for us, but the high number of visitors also made it clear that, in addition to space for recreation, the pool needed a place for relaxation and focus. Plans for an entirely new pool were therefore soon in the works: a pool for swimming laps, participating in our activities, or simply enjoying the heated water and additional wellness amenities. Ambitious plans that could not have been realized without support.
We thank everyone who, directly or indirectly, helped make this fantastic project a reality. After all, Ruinen Swimming Pool is a family pool for residents and visitors alike: by offering ample space for recreation, sports, and relaxation, everyone feels at home here.
